How I started Getting Up Early

It’s been over 25 days I came back from my village. I am happy to day that I have been getting up at 6 AM every day from the last 30 days. Which is 25 days + 5 days in my Village.

Getting up early in village is not a big of a deal but maintaining here in the city is little tough, and that was the reason I could not make a habit of getting up early even though I tried few times and was successful in getting up early for a week or a fortnight at the max. I even wrote an article about getting up early previously on the blog, though, it didn’t help me a lot.

So, how did I succeed now?

I recently turned 26 but I never got up early for many days in a row. If ever I woke up, it was maximum for a week but then I was back to normal.

Now I am writing about it after 30 day trial of getting up early, and I am confident that I can now continue to get up early as it has become my habit to get up early and I really don’t need an alarm for that.

The Problems

The biggest problem I faced about getting up early was, what do I do? My work doesn’t require me to get up early in the morning. As I work from home, I can get up at any time of the day but I chose not to, instead, I made a habit of getting up early despite of the fact that I haven’t got any special thing to do in the morning. I don’t even start my work before 9AM, yet I feel a lot better because I get full 3 hours beforehand.

When I start my work, I am sitting on my desk almost the whole day which means there is not physical activity throughout the day. These 3 hours give me enough time to add Morning Walks, Light Workouts and other activities around the house.

Fill the time with some work

So if you want to get up early, you need to plan what you are going to do with the extra hours you will be getting, because if you consider time as a currency, then you will be 3 hours rich (or whatever time your get). Make a better use of your time. If you are student, you can do your assignments on time, if you are into a job, you can get your things in order before you leave office, if you are a housewife, and you can finish your housework early.

Planning to keep yourself occupied from the moment you step out of your bed will keep you from getting back to bed. So, plan it in advance rather than thinking what you are going to do in the morning.

Getting Out of the Bed

Practices like keeping you alarm from the other end of the room might help you a bit, try doing something that will make it tough for you to go back to bed. Something like, going straight to the bathroom and wash you face, brush etc. or jump out of the best and get dressed to go out. The latter works for me. I jump out of the bed, get dressed and get out of the house. You can try anything you want, which will help not to go back to bed or else you are never going to make it happen.

Set a deadline

you might be setting a goal to wake up at 6AM every day, but also try setting a deadline, like, from next 30 days you will get up at 6AM. This is simply to prepare yourself to wake up in the morning. Because thinking about waking up at 6AM for the rest of your life is little tough than thinking about waking up at 6AM for the next 30 days.

What happens after 30 days?

Everything you do repeatedly, turns into a habit, and it takes over a month to get into a habit. These 30 days will prepare you for another 30 or 60 or 90 days and so on.

I know this all is easy to write but little tough to do. But believe me, if I can do it, you can do it as well.

How to gain confidence

It is said that first impression is the last impression. Few have proved it wrong, but usually this is true, at least for people like me and you, that is why we take the first impressions so much seriously. In India, it is taken more seriously. This is the way you gain confidence in something. So, try making as good first impression as you can.

Confidence plays an important role in getting success in every field, the more confidence you gain, the more success you achieve, or vice versa. If you are confident about the interview you are going to appear in, you will definitely crack the interview.

There are tons of coaching institutions set up for the purpose of coaching personality development and they all aim to fill confidence in their students, this shows that how much important this Confidence is. If you are not confident enough about anything, you will hardly achieve it, there are few key points which are needed to be noticed in order to gain confidence.

Love you life

The first thing you will have to do is to love you life, you can’t gain confidence if you don’t love your life. And to love your life, you need to accept all the negative and positives about you, you need to work on your negatives to balance your life.

Clothing

The other thing affect your confidence is wearing sense, clothing, if you are not feeling comfortable in what you are wearing, you will never look confident. So choose clothes to wear in which you feel comfortable walking and going out.

Looking Fresh

Another important point to gain confidence is to look fresh, that does not mean that you will look fresh if you take bath regularly, looking fresh is much more than taking bath regularly. It’s about thinking positive, staying fit, getting up early in the morning. By practicing all the things you look fresh and that increases your confidence level.

Knowledge

I read somewhere that a fool is not recognized until he speaks out. Because, on whatever topics he speaks, he will lack knowledge on that topic. So, if you among those people who speak on the topic where u lack knowledge, step doing it and stop making yourself recognized as a fool, try learning things and gaining knowledge before speaking out.

Eye Contact

The other big things for gaining confidence is eye contact, it does not mean that you keep staring people you come across on the road. It means, look straight into the eyes while talking to the person, it gives you a confidence of staying in the conversation and sometimes helps you in dominating a discussion

How to wake up early

Well this is the question every insomniac would be eager on ask in order to correct his or her insomnia and get some good night sleep and go to work or college without dosing off in front of that hot chick/cool dude.

The answer is very simple and everyone knows about it,

To wake up early, you have to sleep early,

There is something we all used to think when we were in KG classes. Early to bed early to rise make a man healthy wealthy and wise.

Could be true, how its same like which came first, the Hen or the Egg. I mean what is it? We get up late because we sleep late or se sleep late because we get up late.

Coming back to the solution, which is, to wake up early, you have to sleep early,

Has anyone tried it? Yes, I did, and you know what, I did not succeed, I ended up wasting four hours in my bed calling sleep.

So, what I learned is, you can’t sleep when you don’t feel like sleeping. So, you will have to take action against your laziness, and have some less sleep for a week or two. What I mean to say is, go to bed at the same time you are going, but set an alarm clock, and wake up accordingly, and for God sake, don’t let you sleep for an extra minute. Get out of your comfort zone. And believe me, when you do this 1,2,3,4…….10 times in a row. You will certainly learn to wake up early.

My personal experience,

At the time of writing ,it’s 11:55Pm, and I need to wake up a 6Am, that mean I have got 6 hours to sleep, this is the 8th day I am doing this, and it’s working, now I am getting dizzy and I am going to crash into the bed as soon as I publish this post on the blog. I am going to complete my sleep in these 6 hours. I will not waste any time in calling for my sleep and getting into the dreams, which is the best part of the night.

So, instead of sleeping early at night to wake up early in the morning, just wake up early.
