Dear Mom,

I can’t count how much effort you had to do to raise me and make me a good human being, I have already written about this sometime back. In this letter, I want to thank you so much for standing by my decision and believing in me.

It was tough for me to tell you that I want to start my own company when all my friends were joining big companies with nice salary packages. They got their dream jobs but my dream was a bit different, I always wanted to start my own venture and do things I love to do.

I know that entrepreneurship is tough and sometimes I have to work for 16 hours at a stretch for the whole week or month, I don’t get any week offs. There is no fixed money that gets credited to my bank account every month. I am making less money than the children of our relatives abroad which remains your concern even now. But I want to tell you that I am happy and getting up every morning with a feeling of working on something great is something. I can never trade for money.

I know that you are worried about my future but it’s hard to say how long my work is going to take off and make stable revenue. I might fail and had to start all over again, but I thank you so much for not pushing me to get a job in a gulf city.

You hate that I stay awake and don’t get up early. You hate that I spend too much time in front of the computer, but Mom, I am working very hard to get things to normal. The initial days of every start-up need extra time and energy, not everybody is capable to do that, I promise that I am going to make you proud of what I am doing, someday.

PS: I am posting this before mother’s day because I believe every day is mother’s day, she is my mother for all 365 days in a year and for the rest of my life.

It lets me share photos with my friends and family instantly. Also, I am a big fan of productivity and that is the reason I bought Samsung Galaxy Note so that I can use the internet on the go. It saves me from getting bored on long journeys and visits to relatives’ places.

Internet on Mobile is an amazing experience if a decent data speed is provided by your mobile operator otherwise it is going to remind you of the dial up days. I experienced this when I happily tried to use GPRS on my mobile. It was damn slow that is almost spoilt my mood.

Using the internet on mobile is one of the reasons why the smartphone are so popular and sell like hot cakes. Mobile phones of these days are more powerful than yesterday’s computers and so you need a powerful Internet for it. I recommend 3G to everyone who want to fully enjoy the internet on mobile.

Yet Another Amazing TV Commercial from Vodafone

Vodafone came up with this new campaign Internet is fun and they are offering free apps, games and much more to have fun, which is quite exciting, looking at the kind of service and 3G data plans offered by them. A good data speed makes the internet really a fun to use on mobile. Be it sharing photos, watching videos or chatting with your friends. Internet is fun with 3G on mobile.

I started this blog to share my thoughts which I couldn’t do on my other blogs.

I am assuming that you are reading this article on your preferred device, from your home or office, sitting in a comfortable chair, sipping some coffee. But on the other side, it was little different for me while writing this.

I am writing pieces of this article on my mobile phone whenever I am getting time. The other issue is lack of electricity at night at the place where I am staying for few days.

I belong to a small village of east of Utter Pradesh, called Potaria . I visit my village once or twice a year, this time it was for Voting in UP Assembly Elections.

Well, maybe more than that, but it’s quite exciting to explore the real India which is found in the 638,365 villages of this incredible country called India.

There may be few advanced villages but most of them are same, even with different language or culture.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you a part of incredible India, you may find popular people, places or things on the internet, but you actually will have to visit India to explore the internal parts.

As I said above, electricity is not available for 24 hours, few villages get 8 hour and few 12. And this eventually leads to unavailability of many other things like TV, Internet etc., anything that runs on battery could be seen here at times.

As per the water supply is concerned, these hand pumps can be found in every household.

In villages, people gather at one place and the only source of entertainment is pulling legs of a funny guy, (and every village has got their own funny guys.) . Kids have got Mp3 mobile phones (mostly Nokia) and are seen exchanging Video songs with each other.

Every individual in the village has big farms and they grow rice, wheat, and mustard,

and even their own cattle……

They keep a stock the grown crops for themselves until the next season and sell the rest of it which is the main source of their income, which they use to buy rest of the things required to survive.

We too have got our own land which we have given to a farmer who grows crops and take half of it as a compensation for his efforts.

After all the distribution of the crop in the family, we get our share, which is around 300Kgs of Rice.

From the past few years, we have been bringing our share to the city and distribute it to our extended family living in the city. And this was the other reason for us to go there this time.

We keep hearing rumours every now and then; sometimes they scare the hell out of you. In 25 years of my life, I myself have encountered few rumours which scared me to the hell.

Here are the biggest rumours I have heard till date.

Steal Body (1993)

This happened when I was in 2nd Standard, according to the rumours Steal Body was a RoboCop like Man who was made of steel (or wore a steel cover), and he was capable of jumping 100ft above the ground, grab a dozen of people and many more features which a human brain can imagine.

But, it was a rumour created by Army men to keep people locked down in their homes at night so that they can perform their daily operations to capture the militants. This was early 1990s and terrors was at its peak. And you know what? I got shot in the foot.

Just Kidding

Mrig attacking Children (1997)

When I lived in Chamba, there again was a rumour about a Narnia (the movie) like Lion or Tiger (No one actually knew about what it was) which turn itself into anything, be it stone, plant or a cute little girl and could attack anyone and eat them.

But the actual story was, there was a tiger (which is called Mrig in local language of Chamba) and it attacked domestic animals to eat them. Parents used this to scare their children to stop them playing for long and concentrate on their studies. Parents are so mean sometimes.

Monkey Man (2001)

This was when I was in Delhi; there was a rumour that a Man (which looked like a monkey) or a Monkey (which looked like a man) used to attack people in Chandni Chowk area. And the best part was that people actually claimed to see that thing in real. Nothing came out and it was turn into a Rumour, which become a plot for a movie called Delhi 6 (Staring Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor)

Man giving Birth to a baby (2008)

When I heard it for the first time, I imaged myself giving birth to a baby and I swear to the holy sprits, it was THE painful thing I have ever imagined. I asked to GOD, why are you changing your plans?

Anyways, I later read that he/she was a girl and had paid the doctors to make her a boy, but, I guess no one can mess up with God’s machinery and thus, she/he Got pregnant leading to the rumours that a Guy got pregnant. Thank you God…Thank you for making me a Man.

People Turing into Stone (2012)

This was the most recent one, I think that was 2012 effect, people were spreading this rumour that the world will end in 2012 since 2010. Everyone knew it was a rumour, but few people of Lucknow play this prank on 4Th January that the person who will sleep will turn into stones. And it was all over Lucknow till 4 AM. People were getting calls from their relatives about that.

Everyone was scared while I was thinking, Wow, what a viral effect. It was spread all over Lucknow in just few hours and that too via phone. I wish I could do viral effect to one of my products.

Ever since Samsung showcased Samsung Galaxy Note back in September 2011, I was eagerly waiting for it to be available in the market. I finally got my hands on this new device last week and I love it like anything.

Hardware Specs

Samsung galaxy Note is Device which is something between a Mobile phone and a Tablet PC, because of its 5.3Inch AMOLED HD display screen and a 1.4Ghz Dual core processor with 1GB of RAM and a Internal storing capacity of 16GB or 32G (with a microSD slot), which is able to handle the task more easily than any other smart phone in the market.

To give more working hours on a device like this, Samsung has given it a 2,500 mAh Li-ion battery.

Rest of the specs are almost same as Samsung Galaxy S II, few people even call this an upgraded version of SGS II which is <s>Note</s><s> </s>not. Samsung has added a Stylus, which everyone though, has completely vanished from the Mobile market scene, last time I saw a Stylus enabled phone was a Windows PDA. Touchscreen mobile phones hardly require a stylus anymore. But Samsung has improvised the whole Stylus thing and proved a point that there is still some space left for Stylus pens.

Software

Samsung Galaxy Note runs on Android 2.3 with Samsung’s own UI layer on it. You get 7 Different Home screens. It has Few of Android’s favourite Apps preinstalled such as Gmail, Maps, and YouTube. You can choose to install any other app from the Android Market. Like on its other devices, it offers Social Hum, Social Reader and Kies Air.

Browsing and Reading

The web surfing and reading experience has been very nice on this device, I have been suing this phone from past few days and I am utilizing it’s big screen to browse full fledge websites and I rarely feel the need to zooming in when I am browsing websites in landscape mode as the content is readable.

In all the Tablet PCs which are more than 7inch, it feels awkward to hold it with one hand and browse, while this device can be held with one hand. I am started reading Books on Galaxy Note in Bed, before going to sleep. it however, requires other hand if you want to dial a number or type something, but I think that’s okay with me because I used both my hands to type even on my previous phone Nexus S.

Camera and Multimedia

At first, you might feel embarrassing to hold a 5.3 inch sized device to take photos or shoots videos, but with portability and quality both achievable with this device. You will start ignoring the Odd looks of people staring at you.

With a Camera of 8 Megapixel there is no doubt that you will get Great pictures. I would say the same for the videos as well which as shot at 1080p at 30fps.

The photo editor and video editor both are capable for handling small edits within the phone and you can create mini movies with it.

So, I am here after <strike>centuries </strike>months to writer another piece of article on my personal blog. I am too busy, is the reason for not updating my blog.

Not that I am building a Time machine or working with NASA on a space mission or something, but I am busy doing nothing, away from the internet world, actually the real world also.

I am in Assam, a North Eastern state of India. and to be more specific ( if you want to keep a tab on my from Google Earth) I am in Gerukhamukh, which is 460KMs away from Guwahati (a big city of Assam).

After a full week of sitting at Home ( now why I call Home here is another Big story and you have to read my about page for that), Sunday was the day we decided to visit the local Tea factory.

This article is not about How to make tea, but it’s about How tea leaves are prepared in the Factory.

On my way from Guwahati to Gherukhamukh which is about 460KMs, I saw many Tea Gardens, and Assam is the largest producer of Tea.

So the Tea leaves make their way to the factory by local worker who are paid Rs3 for plucking 1KG of tea leaves from Tea Garden.

Now here in the Factory, the tea leaves are then crushed into small particles so that they can be processed further

The tea is then kept on the floor for sometime so that the color turns Red from Green.

It is then taken further for making it even more fine, and then Big Machines separate them according to their sizes,

Which again goes to different big machines where it is separated according to the quality of the tea.

Then they are Filled in the Big Bags which are then bought by Different Companies who sell it with their Labels.

Not all of the part of tea leaves make it to the Shiny packets of tea, that is not a mountain of tea but tea dust.

Which is then packed in these Bags and GOD knows what they do with them, I mean why do I care?

Can anyone count how many times I have used the word Tea in the article?

Ah! Why would you care?

Do you?

There are many things which are not worth to blog, but her I set the rules here, so, I’ll be doing whatever I want. Ok, sorry, that’s kind of rude.

This is an incident from my AMU days, it was Sunday and I was in a restaurant in Center Point called Quality, I was with few friends there, suddenly we noticed a girl who entered the restaurant with a bag, she came by and sat next to our seat. The girl looked attractive and it’s obvious that we were staring at her right from the time she entered.

Ok, the next thing we noticed that she ordered a Cola and took her mobile phone out of her bag and played a song. (This was year 2005 where MP3 phones were things to show off). You might be interested to know about the song, it’s was a sad song in female voice from the movie Ishq Vishq. Yes, I have seen the movie and in this song, the female cast is sad and crying over some boyfriend girlfriend issue. But you know what, the girl started crying in the restaurant, it was like oh I am so lonely, someone hold me, I need to be cuddled, my boyfriends was cheating on me, he dumped me, I am so Cinderella type.

We were four guys and we were confused, my friends said it’s all a Natak to gain some sympathy. I thought why not should I go ahead and sympathies, suddenly I saw a guy came and sat with her, I thought I am so damn slow I am still thinking and somebody actually did it. Later we found out that it was his boyfriend and we stopped taking interest in their conversation. We already knew what is going to happen, it’s all the usual stuff, girl crying and over reacting over some issue, but this time, it was a source of Sunday entertainment for us, we still laugh out loud talking about the incident.

Everyone is a Geek these days, but if you if someone asks you “How your Gadgets represent how you are?”

What would you say?

Well, if you ask me this question, I have a plenty of answers for you.

I am a Big fan of productivity and I keep looking for things which makes my Job easier to do, I share them on my Technology Blog also. Being a professional blogger, I spend most of my time Online and I make sure I am not leaving my offline world behind, This is the reason I bough a Dell Laptop which I can take out at local Café Shops to get my work done. I love being in the crowd without being the part of the crowd, I am not alone but I am also not disturbed by anyone while I am working on an Article. One more thing, it is as fast as it was on Day 1. I have customized my Laptop with different themes and software, different themes for different mood. It my Virtual Home and I love to take care of it.

Dell is a powerful machine, but I cannot take a laptop everywhere I go, I need to keep in touch with my online world, emails, Facebook, twitter etc. This is the reason I have got n97 Mini from Nokia. yes Nokia powered by Symbian S60v5 OS. The geek world has totally ignored Symbian but it still is most widely used OS in India. Nokia is the other name of Mobile phones in India and I totally support it, I can check my emails and do all the social networking on this phone, the physical qwerty keypad makes me do things faster and the touch screen ads more to it. I have got all my favorite songs in it. I have personalized my phone with themes and I keep all the important files in it. My phone is a live saver during my traveling.

My Mobile phone works as my Music Player (8GB Inbuilt Memory), My Digital Camera (5MP with Flash), My Pen Drive and my Mini Computer ( Social Networking etc.)

I used to wear a Fast Track watch, but now I have made a habit of looking at the time in the mobile phone instead as I am looking into it most of the time.

Apart from my Mobile Phone and Laptop, I have got few other gadgets, or say Gadgets for doing almost everything, I spend plenty of hours looking at new gadgets and knowing about them. Every gadget I own is handled with care and you will never find a single scratch on them. This shows how I want my thing to be perfect.

Well, almost perfect.

Short Note: If you want to Own a Dell Inspiron Laptop, there is a contest running on IndiBlogger till 11 July, 9PM IST.
